Narrabri set to expand

Posted 27/08/08

New developments planned for IPS Logistics’ Narrabri operations in north-western New South Wales will provide better efficiencies for customers and suppliers.

CEO John Cooper today announced the group’s decision to develop major grain storage facilities at the IPS Narrabri site in order to improve supply chain efficiencies between the state’s north-west and the Port of Sydney. The 50,000 tonne storage facilities will be ready for operation by November 2008.

“This development will not only provide expanded service options for producers and traders, it will also improve truck turn-around times and help to smooth the seasonal peaks and troughs of grain supply and rail service operations,” he said.

"Last year we made a strategic decision to invest for the long-term in major rail service arrangements to the Port of Sydney, and this illustrated our commitment to the agricultural sector and to the economic development of Narrabri and the north-west region of New South Wales.  We have also invested in new heavy machinery including container forklifts and seed grading equipment to add more options for our customers.  Now with this development, we are moving to provide a complete package of services."
