Dale Sherwood will join IPS Logistics as International Freight Manager from 1 December 2008. Dale will take over from Bruce Kilby who has guided the transition of the Kilby Freight & Customs business since the acquisition by IPS a year ago.
Dale is a licensed customs broker and has been part of the international freight forwarding and customs industry since the early 1990s. His role with IPS will focus on driving the international freight services of the group.
In other developments, Peter Pike has been appointed General Manager Agribusiness & Development, as part of the group’s growth strategy.
In announcing the executive management changes, Managing Director John Cooper noted: “Peter’s background as one of the founders of IPS’ Queensland operations makes him the ideal candidate to further develop our business. His wide experience in shipping, as well as the grains industry, will serve us well especially with the recent de-regulation of the Australian grain export market.”
Peter will also have a strategic involvement in the development of the group’s freight forwarding business.
Robin Hockins, General Manager Operations & Development, has taken over Peter’s line management role for the Brisbane operations.
